李焕之（1919—2000），出生于香港，少年时代在厦门度过。著名作曲家、指挥家、音乐理论家。1936年春入上海国立音乐专科学校，师从萧友梅，学习和声学。1938年8月到延安，进鲁迅艺术学院音乐系学习，结业后又继续在高级班从冼星海学习作曲指挥。毕业后留校任教员。抗日战争胜利后，从延安到张家口，担任华北联合大学文艺学院音乐系主任。新中国成立以来，一直活跃在音乐战线上。李焕之创作了大量音乐作品，有传唱一时的《民主建国进行曲》、《新中国青年进行曲》、《社会主义好》等歌曲，管弦乐作品有《春节组曲》、《第一交响乐——英雄海岛》，古琴弦歌合唱《苏武》，古筝协奏曲《汨罗江幻想曲》，独幕歌剧《异国之秋》等。其中作于1956年的《春节组曲》于当年全国音乐周首演时即获得听众一致赞赏。尤其是其中的《序曲——大秧歌》（后常以《春节序曲》为名单独演出）广受欢迎，成为中国喜庆佳节中屡演不辍的保留节目。李焕之在合唱指挥、理论著述方面也有很深造诣，他的文字著述有：《作曲教程》、《怎样学习作曲》（又名《歌曲创作讲座》）、《音乐创作散论》、《民族民间音乐散论》、《论作曲的技术》等。
