刘文金（1937—2013），河北唐山人。被民乐界誉为"刘天华以来最具代表性的作曲家"，他创作的民族器乐、声乐以及其它类型的音乐作品达400首之多。这些作品主要有：二胡协奏曲《洪湖》、《秋韵》，二胡曲《相思》《火——彩衣姑娘》，二胡与日本筝《云海之梦》，二胡套曲《如来梦》；民族管弦乐《太行印象》、《泼水节》、《茉莉花》、《鹰之恋》，交响诗《十面埋伏》、《黄土》；舞剧《长恨歌》的音乐等。他还编配移植了交响诗《嘎达梅林》、钢琴协奏曲《黄河》以及数十首根据外国民间乐曲和歌曲改编的民族管弦乐作品。刘文金创作和改编了大量的民族器乐、声乐以及其它体裁的作品数百（首）。此外还有舞蹈、舞剧、电影、电视连续剧配乐等。刘文金还参加了大型音乐舞蹈史诗《中国革命之歌》的音乐创作。他多次应邀出访欧、美、亚几十个国家及我国港澳台等地区。多次指挥香港、新加坡、台湾的中乐、华乐、国乐团体为他举办的个人作品专场音乐会。他和日本、韩国作曲家共同创建了亚洲乐团。
