王昆（1925—），出生于河北唐县，1938年在晋察冀边区参加妇女抗日救国会。她喜爱唱歌，常为群众演唱《松花江上》、《铁蹄下的歌女》、《五月的鲜花》等歌曲。1939年4月参加西北战地服务团，从事抗日宣传工作。1944年随团回延安，入延安鲁迅艺术学院戏剧音乐部学习。1945年4月，中国第一部歌剧《白毛女》在延安首演，她扮演女主角喜儿，获得成功。此外，她还主演了新秧歌剧《夫妻识字》、《兄妹开荒》等，并经常表演独唱。1965年参加大型音乐舞蹈史诗《东方红》的演出，她演唱了《农友歌》。王昆是中国新歌剧的第一代演员。在声乐艺术上，她既有得天独厚的歌喉，音色高亢、嘹亮，又有丰富的表演艺术实践经验。她善于从传统歌唱艺术中汲取营养，掌握中国民歌的演唱风格和技巧；同时，她也从欧洲歌唱艺术中吸收其发声方法，广采博取，创造她特有的热情、朴实、乡土气息浓郁的演唱风格。她擅长演唱的代表性曲目有中国歌曲《秋收》、《二月里来》、《翻身道情》、《革命将士出征歌》，印度歌曲《划船调》、《神啊，吹起你的笛子吧》等；孟加拉歌曲《求雨》、苏联歌曲《田野静悄悄》等。她曾随同艺术团体访问了亚洲、非洲、欧洲等许多国家，对于中外文化艺术交流做出了贡献。
