阎肃（1930—），原名阎志扬，河北保定人。10岁时跟随父母亲远走巴山蜀水，在重庆就读于重庆南开中学，中学毕业后在重庆大学读工商管理系。1953年调到西南军区文工团（空军政治部文工团的前身），曾任分队长，后任空军政治部文工团空军歌剧团编导组组长，空军歌舞剧团创作员。创作的歌词《我爱祖国的蓝天》、《下四川》1964年获第三届中国人民解放军文艺会演创作优秀奖。歌剧《江姐》1977年获第四届中国人民解放军文艺会演创作奖。与人合作的歌剧《忆娘》、京剧《红灯照》1979年获中华人民共和国建国三十周年献礼演出创作一等奖。一曲《敢问路在何方》使他的名字走进了千家万户，这首轻快的乐曲成为那时最为流行的歌曲。从此，阎肃一发而不可收，创作了许许多多被人们传唱的歌词，比如《说唱脸谱》、《故乡是北京》、《前门情思大碗茶》、《雾里看花》等等。阎肃还创作过好几出颇有影响的京剧现代戏，比如京剧《红灯照》、《红色娘子军》、《红岩》、《年年有余》等。
