刘梅生先生系中国音乐家协会会员，中国音乐著作权协会会员，北京音乐家协会会员，国家二级作曲。在供职于北京音像公司录音出版编辑部、中央电视台《金土地》栏目、《商务电视》栏目和《经济与法》栏目。在北京音像公司工作期间，曾编辑出版过大量的录音磁带，也曾为数十部电视剧创作音乐。2008年和2010年先后为电影故事片《大漠赤城》和《温泉世界》作曲。2009年与著名琴师周志强先生共同为京剧《荀派名段25首》编配交响风格的伴奏CD。专著有《十九世界欧洲音乐赏析》、《综合音乐理论浅谈》、长篇小说《问情》。讲学活动有"四川人民广播电台"为期半年的音乐理论讲座，南京大学、南京邮电大学、北大等长、短期音乐讲座。
