毛翰，1955年生于汉口，祖籍湖北应山（今广水）。曾任西南师范大学中国新诗研究所教授，《中国诗歌年鉴》主编；华侨大学文学院教授，"诗与歌词的理论与创作"硕士生导师。中国音乐文学学会理事。出版有《中华诗歌大辞典》《20世纪中国新诗分类鉴赏大系》《诗美创造学》《歌词创作的原理和方法》《中国周边国家汉诗概览》《辛亥革命踏歌行》《毛翰诗论选》《歌词创作学》等。有歌词创作论44篇连载《词刊》。创作方面，有诗歌集《诗蝶》《陪你走过这个季节》《天籁如斯》等。后期偏重歌词，渐为歌坛所重。其词谱曲成歌的，见于http://5sing.kugou.com/22376563/default.html 等网页。
