晨枫，本名王仲源。陕西蒲城县人。1964年毕业于兰州大学中文系，分配到中国近代史研究所任实习员。1974年调干入伍。曾任中国人民解放军第二炮兵政治部文工团创作室主任，中国音乐文学学会副主席；现为中国音协《歌曲》杂志编委，《儿童音乐》副主编。一级编剧。系中国作家协会会员，中国音乐家协会会员。因创作成绩突出，曾五次荣立三等功，1992年起享受政府特殊津贴。

曾担任全军艺术系列音乐专业高级评审委员会委员，全军文艺新作品、全军首届"解放军文艺大奖"评选委员会委员等。

其创作涉猎门类宽泛，包括歌词、诗歌、散文、歌剧、艺术评论、专题研究等。

现已出版歌词集《蓝河谷》（花山文艺出版社，1990），歌诗集《太阳河》（广西民族出版社，1992）；歌词艺术论集《词苑履痕录》（广西民族出版社，1992）；作家评传专著《盗天火的诗人》（陕西人民出版社，1992）；散文选集《昨夜星辰昨夜风》（广西民族出版社，1993）；《中国当代歌词史》（漓江出出版社2002）等。另有大型歌剧《琴箫月》（合作）与《一个女兵的爱情》分别由原海政歌剧团在北京上演与在大型文艺刊物《现代人》发表。

其创作的歌词作品有百余首，在全国及省以上各类评奖中获奖。其中《火箭兵的梦》由张暴默演唱后，获全国文艺调演一等奖；《祖国象妈妈一样》被选入小学音乐课本，并被评为"红领巾喜爱的歌"；歌剧主题《草原勒勒车》获文化部一等奖；歌曲《彩云归》在"新星音乐会"推出后，影响较广；《阿里阿里》获中宣部第五届"五个一工程奖"。此外上演与发表大型歌剧《琴箫月》（合作）、《一个女兵的爱情》等两部。
