毕业于西北师范学院。

曾就职于国有企业管理岗位。本人喜好文学，偏爱古典诗词，先后成为了天水诗词学会会员、甘肃省诗词学会会员和中华古典诗词学会会员。近年有诸多杂文、散文及诗词在国家及省、地刊物发表，并在多次全国性征文活动中获奖。出版作品有《吟月集》、《离乡吟怀集》、《离乡广吟集》、《离乡夜吟集》、《散文集》、《离乡随笔集》、《震中文怀》、《文友书信集》、《影怀》等。

本人又酷爱音乐，有30余年的音乐创作经历。自己作词、谱曲为一些企业和学校创作歌曲数十首，其中的代表作有《金徽酒香甜地飘》、《最美甘南大草原》、《人生》、《岁月》、《我的老父亲》、《咱们乐开怀》、《中华悠悠调》、等歌曲。本人所创作的歌曲有不少在正规刊物发表，在有关参赛活动中获奖。
