厉福玉，男，江苏徐州人。自少年时就喜欢文艺，酷爱音乐，学习拉奏二胡。1961年应征入伍后在部队多次参加师展示业余文艺宣传队并自学词曲写作。68年退伍后在地方仍积极参加业余文艺宣传队演出活动及坚持自学歌曲创作至今。创作了多首群众喜听、爱唱、易学的群众歌曲。在全国性的多种征歌大赛竟演活动中分别获得了金、银、铜等多种大奖。如："和谐社会人人夸"获"放歌中华"词曲银奖，"徐州可爱的家乡"获"建国六十五周年"征歌词曲银奖；"想起那个美好的晚上"获"中国梦、音乐情"征歌大赛三等奖；"感动中国"获"感动中国主题"全国征集前十佳；"伟大美好的中国梦"获"神州歌海"征集评选金奖及多首银、铜奖；"你我有个梦"在"歌词作家"刊物发表。等等。以上获奖作品词曲均是自己创作。
