上世纪70年代进入专业文艺团体从事艺术工作。担任过萨克斯演奏手、定音鼓演奏员、歌剧排练、钢琴伴奏；创作的一些音乐作品被多次搬上舞台演出；曾担任新学员的专业课教学工作，兼任陕西省艺校安康校区的钢琴教学工作。在此期间，曾担任歌剧《榆钱儿》的合唱排练指导，该剧在陕西省首届艺术节上获伴唱一等奖。1984年参加了长春电影制片厂音乐创作室作曲班的学习深造，有十余件作品在省市和全国比赛中获一、二、三等奖。退休后担任安康市老年合唱团指挥。2010年7月，完成了大型声乐套曲《长征组歌》的全场排练，在全市公演后，获得巨大成功。当年10月参加了中国（西安）合唱艺术节的选拔赛，担任指挥，进入决赛；11月又参加了中央电视台音乐频道"歌声与微笑"栏目的节目录制，担任指挥，获得最佳表现奖；2013年10月带领合唱团参加陕西省首届电视合唱大赛，获得最佳风采奖和优秀演唱奖；2013年担任中国第一部彩色纪录片《彩色老安康》的作曲和音乐编辑，该片于2013年春节在北京电视台首播，中央电视台做过重点报道，挪威国家电视台已进口该纪录片并播出。同年，为三集电视纪录片《中国安康城影像》作曲，该片已于2015年8月起开始在全国播映。陕西卫视、甘肃卫视、四川卫视、青海卫视已首轮播出。两部纪录片均由陕西音像出版社在2013年先后正式出版。
现为安康市音乐家协会秘书长，陕西省音乐家协会会员，中国音乐著作权协会会员。
