陆卫先，现任湖北黄石市新爱乐交响乐团董事长、团长、艺术总监。系中国音乐家协会会员，中国音协交响乐联盟理事，黄石市音乐家协会副主席，黄石市管乐学会副会长。1982年至1988年，先后参加雷振邦、雷蕾音乐理论作曲函授班学习六年；1993年担任黄石公安局警官艺术团副团长；1995年参加省公安厅筹办湖北省警官艺术团并任乐队队长；1977年以来，创作器乐、声乐及舞蹈音乐作品多次获得省市音乐创作奖项。其中，舞剧音乐《找贺龙》、《神花女》先后获湖北省首届琴台音乐节、湖北省第二届职工文艺汇演舞剧音乐创作一等奖；舞蹈音乐《接大兵》获湖北省“九八抗洪”文艺调演音乐创作二等奖；萨克斯独奏《蓝盾波尔卡》获省公安厅一等奖；女声独唱《大雁啊，追赶春天》由著名歌唱家叶佩英在北京百花书会演唱；男声独唱《狩猎》在省公安厅获创作一等奖后，被中国武警文工团改编为领唱合唱节目演出。

    2009年9月，陆卫先以民营企业家身份出资创办了全国第一家私营双管编制交响乐团“黄石新爱乐交响乐团”并任董事长兼团长，七年来共投入资金七百多万元，排练了《红旗颂》、《乔家大院》及《德沃夏克第九交响曲》等中外交响乐名作80余首，先后演出近70场。乐团现有来自不同岗位的演奏员80人、合唱团80余人，成为黄石一张靓丽的文化名片。陆卫先2012年被评为湖北省音乐年度人物，乐团近年来多次荣获“全市宣传思想文化工作先进集体”，并获第四届湖北省宣传思想文化工作创新奖。乐团成立后，引起国内各大媒体及社会各界关注，2012年乐团被中国交响乐联盟吸收为正式成员，中央电视台采访组先后四次来黄石对交响乐团和陆卫先进行了全面深入采访，专题节目经央视一套、四套以及新闻、音乐频道多次播出，反响强烈；2016年4月26日，应中央电视台邀请，乐团一百余人赴京在北京音乐厅为首都工人、市民演出了“鲜花献给劳动者”五一专场交响音乐会，著名指挥家邵恩担任客座指挥，央视著名主持人孙晓梅主持了专场音乐会。5月7日央视音乐频道再次播出《音乐人生-黄石新爱乐交响乐团》大型纪录片，形成了强烈的新闻热点。
